Our Lady of Mount Carmel primary grade students gain a deeper understanding of their responsibilities as individuals and citizens. Our goal is to prepare our students academically and develop responsible and caring citizens who know how to meet the social and moral challenges of their world.  Students will have the support of school personnel, parents, and the community as we work together to provide exciting educational opportunities.

• Math instruction in computational skills and problem-solving techniques using daily living experiences: clocks, money, measurements, graph interpretation, geometric concepts, and probability.
• Life, earth, and physical sciences instruction.
• Social studies.
• Dynamic classrooms incorporating audio, DVD, video, and SMART board instruction, as well as trade books, manipulatives, computers, and cross-curricular art.
• All programs follow the Archdiocesan Essential Learnings and the New York State Learning Standards.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel School provides middle schoolers with a successful academic program in a nurturing environment that fosters our students’ spiritual, academic, moral, and social growth.  We actively promote individual responsibility and accountability and remain focused on our Catholic identity with Jesus Christ as our center.

• Grade 5 instruction provided in a self-contained setting.
• Grades 6-8 instruction provided by subject area.
• Dynamic science program including a wide range of hands-on and virtual labs.
• Social studies program featuring guest speakers, including local government officials, historians, and family members who wish to build cultural appreciations, share genealogical heritage, and talk about their global travels.
• We are committed to addressing individual learning styles in the classroom. Our teachers use a variety of instructional strategies and materials, including technology, music, the arts, experiments, manipulatives, and other special learning techniques.
• Grade 8 math instruction prepares select students to take the Algebra Regents in June.
• Numerous hands-on multi-sensory educational assemblies presented during the year.
• All programs follow the Archdiocesan Essential Learnings and the New York State Learning Standards.
